“...the mind was made to illuminate the heart”
I have been in the helping profession for 10 years and I love what I do. I get the privilege of entering into people's stories for a time and helping them navigate through all that is meaningful to them. My work is about bringing to life that which has been dormant, it's about finding new ways of relating that move us out of conflict and into collaboration. My hope is that each client finds themselves in a transformational process that leads to a more authentic and connected life.
My education includes a BA in Education, Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri and a MA in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. I have helped start a church in Hollywood, CA and a counseling center in Austin, Texas. My training and life experience has helped me meld the worlds of psychology and Christian spirituality in a meaningful way. This integration informs how I listen, value and care for each person. I walk with those regardless of belief, pain, questions or scars- never imposing my narrative but opening up to yours.
I believe we are hurt in relationship and it is only in relationship that we will find healing. For this reason, my therapy is also informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, a relational approach that focuses on deeper understanding and the healing of the whole person.
